Description of Services:

Assists newly arrived Government Assisted Refugees with the resettlement process * provides support and essential services for the immediate needs of refugees destined to London and transferees during their first 6 weeks 

  • temporary accommodations with meals and 24-hour supervision for up to 15 days including orientation and training on household facilities and fire evacuation plans 
  • needs assessments
  • individual assessments
  • application for mandatory federal or provincial documents
  • orientation and information training
  • supportive counseling
  • school registration for children and LINC classes for adults
  • support securing permanent accommodation including assistance with searching for, viewing, selecting, and moving into permanent accommodations
  • referrals and community connections

Enhanced Life Skills Support - Practical one-on-one support including orientation in clients' language on variety of topics, such as federal and provincial programs and services, health care issues, managing money, education system, family life, employment referrals to community services
