Description of Services:
Income assistance for basic needs and shelter for those who reside within Chippewas of the Thames First Nation and meet eligibility requirements under Ontario Works (OW)
Clients are actively required to participate in employment through their participation agreement, which may evolve and change overtime depending on the clients training and education, or if gained employment either part-time or full-time * if a client has any medical issues, requirements may be deferred
People eligible for OW may also eligible for discretionary benefits for special items of extreme need such as medical supplies (diabetic supplies, surgical supplies), medical travel and transportation, eye glasses, emergency dental, dentures, prosthetics and funerals and burials
Anishnaabek Food Rights - Food buying program which provides essential food and household items at a cost of $5 per month. Available to only Chippewas of the Thames First Nation band members both on and off reserve that have proof of address
