First Nations households who cannot afford suitable accomodations on the private housing market without paying more than 30% of their household income in rent or occupancy charges * program applies only to households whose incomes are below a maximum amount set by CMHC (Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation)

Housing cooperative helping low-income First Nations households living in urban areas to obtain suitable and affordable rental housing in the private market * provides assistance to Native sponsors whose purpose is to supply housing for low-income First Nations households

About Us

First Nations Housing Co-op is based on the principle of participatory democracy and it's operation is controlled by it's members. Residents are members, not tenants, and there is no landlord. The Urban Native Housing Program is administered by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation for the Federal Government.
